Below are answers to Frequently Asked Questions. Please contact Grateful Paws with any additional questions you may have or to set up an appointment for Daily Dog Walking, Cat Sitting, Pet Taxi or any other service that we offer. 


Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes. We are insured through Pet Care Insurance


Q: What are In Home Pet Services?

A: In Home Pet Services involve a Grateful Paws team member coming out to your home and visiting with your pets while performing any necessary duties in the visit. We offer a range of times, from a 20 minute visit to a 40 minute or longer as many times a day as needed. Your pet remains happy and comfortable in their own home and routine. 


Q: What are Overnight Services?

A: One of us will sleep overnight in your home for the time and days requested. The overnights typically start around 6pm and end the next morning around 7am. All the duties will be discussed prior to the stay. In addition to overnights we offer midday visits in between. 


Q:What areas do you cover?

A: The main area we cover is Royal Oak. We are open to visiting surrounding areas

(Berkley, Birmingham, Clawson, and Pleasant Ridge) if schedule permits. Please call for availability and pricing. 


Q: Do you offer package rates for Dog Walking or longer trips?

A: Yes. We offer a discount for any daily Dog Walk consisting of five days in a row. Package rates are available for longer trips for Pet Sitting, Overnight Care and Pet Taxi. Please contact for more information. 


Q: What forms of payment do you take and when is payment due?

A: We accept cash, personal check, money orders and paypal. We accept payment upfront on all Pet Sitting or Overnight Stays. For Dog Walking we accept weekly, or monthly payment. 


Q: What kind of experience do you have with animals?

A: Our experience ranges from cats to dogs, small animals, reptiles, birds and fish. 


Q: Are you comfortable with medications?

A: Yes. We have experience with insulin, oral and topical medication. We are very patient and detail oriented when it comes to any form of special care for your pets. 

In addition we are Pet CPR certified.


Q: Do you work with animals with behavioral problems?

A: We do not discriminate against any breed or animal, however for liability purposes we do not work with animals that display the following: leash aggression, food aggression, people aggression and any behavior that may potentially harm ourselves, another person or animal. We will do our best to work with you and your animal, in the event we feel threatened in any way we will discontinue services immediately.
